Mona Gable Bio:
Born and raised in New York City, Mona began playing guitar at age 7 (a Stella Harmony, of course), and immediately knew that music would be her life long passion. She began playing bars and clubs by age 14, and was one of the youngest people to ever open for the Beach Boys (Miami radio station’s Love 94’s “Love On the Beach”) at age 15.
Over the years she has opened for, and performed with many notables such as Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles, Night Ranger, The Fixx, The Godz, The Ramones, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Nick Lowe.
As a member of Memory Age, the experimental duo with partner Tony Cultreri (brother of Cliff Cultreri, former guitarist of Bill Laswell's "Material"), she became producer as well as artist. Their progressive, uniquely arranged, compositions which blended voice, electronic and acoustic instruments, had earned them an impressive fan base and the accolades of Steve Vai, David Byrne (The Talking Heads), Joe Satriani and many other influential artists.
It was this experimentation that sparked the overwhelming interest in the recording medium itself, and gave rise to Mona becoming a full time solo musician, composer, and producer.
For the last decade, Mona has owned “Slice A Pie Productions,” where she composes custom scores, and underscoring for film, television, trailers, games, advertising and corporate multimedia. Additionally, Slice A Pie Productions creates sound design, as well as Mona acting as a producer/arranger/engineer for other artists.
Mona's eclectic musical tastes and talents have allowed her to compose and produce others in a wide array of genres, everything from electronica and jazz, to orchestral and ambient, and her music has been licensed worldwide as part of the ABACO, Five Alarm and ProMusic libraries. Recently, Mona has begun producing and licensing her own catalogue under her publishing company, TCMG Music.
In 2005 Slice A Pie Productions, with Mona at its helm, has moved into creating and producing original visual content for film, t.v. and advertising, as well as gaining a reputation as a nationally recognized photographer, exhibiting her works throughout the United States.
Mona is a proud member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, ASCAP, G.A.N.G (Game Audio Network Guild), Power Up, The Film Music Network, and board of directors of The Media Alliance of Orange County.
